Coaching Services
Coaching is a high-risk intervention for those participants needing more intensive assistance to live healthier lives and make behavioral changes. Our Healthy AIM Coaches work with participants one-on-one via telephone or email, depending on the participants’ preference.
Our coaches follow Motivational Interviewing techniques, based on Stages of Change Theory by James Prochaska. This technique emphasizes meeting the person where they are, and working with them on what they are ready to address.
Health educators in the past assumed if people knew the risks of certain behaviors that they would then change. Time and research have shown that this is not so; for example, people know the dangers of smoking, yet we still have millions of smokers. They are not ready to quit or do not desire to quit yet.
Our coaches assist people in areas of health that can make a difference by:
|
|
"You have been so encouraging and I truly have changed many habits. My blood pressure is down and my clothes are not tight anymore." |
Coaching offers employers and health plan sponsors the opportunity to prevent participants from acquiring future risks, and possibly moving down in risk categories to reduce claim costs.
In combination with the Health Risk Assessment, labwork, newsletters and coaching, our coaches are able to target areas with participants and work toward lifelong changes that will improve their personal lives, their professional lives, and your workforce.
